ADHD Assessment Cost in Canada

Understand ADHD assessment costs in Canada, what may be included, why pricing varies, and what to ask before booking.

ADHD assessment prices can vary widely

There is no single Canada-wide private ADHD assessment price. Cost varies with the type of clinician, the complexity of the assessment, the number of appointments and whether psychological or neuropsychological testing is included.

What are you actually paying for?

Before comparing prices, check what the quoted fee includes. Some services bundle assessment and diagnostic review, while others price stages separately. Follow-up care, reports, forms and medication-management appointments may also have separate fees.

Does every ADHD assessment require psychological testing?

No. ADHD is a clinical diagnosis, and comprehensive psychological or neuropsychological testing is not automatically required for every patient. Additional testing may be appropriate when learning, cognitive or diagnostic questions require it.

Questions to ask before booking

Ask who performs the assessment, whether the clinician can diagnose and treat ADHD in your province, how many appointments are normally required, whether follow-up care is available, what reports are included and what additional fees may apply.

Tersalus pricing

Tersalus publishes its current appointment pricing so patients can review costs before booking. Because assessment pathways can involve more than one appointment, review the pricing page for the current structure rather than assuming one advertised appointment represents the entire diagnostic process.

Choosing based on more than price

Cost matters, but so do clinical scope, continuity of care, access to treatment after diagnosis, wait time and whether the service is appropriate for your age and clinical situation.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Is there one standard ADHD assessment price in Canada?

No. Private fees vary by provider, assessment model, number of appointments and whether additional testing is required.

Is psychological testing always necessary?

No. It may be useful in selected cases, but ADHD itself is a clinical diagnosis.

What should I compare besides price?

Consider clinician qualifications, provincial authorization, what the fee includes, access to treatment and follow-up, and whether the service fits your clinical needs.
